• Wise and Silly

Mind wanders every dusk, heart still soaked in memories,

The wounds bleed incessant, ceaseless seem to be agonies,

The busy world will never hear cries of the shattered or the miseries,

How could wise and prudent fathom the pain that a silly soul carries.

• शीरीं-ओ-शादाब

तपती ख़ुश्क फ़ज़ा सँभलती, सुन कोयल की शीरीं^१ बहर^२,

मायूस चहचहों की हौसलाअफ़्ज़ाई^३, करता क़िर्मिज़ी^४ गुलमोहर,

बेज़ार शाम को सुकून दिलाती, जाफ़री^५ गुलों की चादर,

शब्बो सहलाती बेक़रार शब, शमीम^६ में लिपटी सहर^७.

• Yellow caress

Bloom stands undaunted, defying the scorch merciless,

Dense and green rescue, breaths wandering the wilderness,

White unveils the yellow, a respite for love in distress,

Parted souls feel relieved by the tender fragrant caress.

• Summer solace

The morning brightness rejuvenates, the desolate twigs lazy,

Fresh tender innocent shoots, teased by the fragrance breezy,

The rays play hide and seek, through those few leaves plucky,

Thin silver clouds console the lake and the pied cuckoo thirsty.

• ग्रीष्म

शाखांवर पहुडली पीतसुमने, दडले हरित अंतरी,

कनक ल्याला बाहवा, ऐश्वर्य उधळितो अंबरी,

दरवळे उत्कट पुष्पगंध, जागवी प्रणय-लहरी,

नटून सुखवितो आसमंत, असे ग्रीष्म तीक्ष्ण जरी।
