मुझे बहाता चला गया मेरे ख़िलाफ़,

ज़माने से सुनी हुई तौहीन का तअस्सुर,

मैं नावाक़िफ़ रहा मेरी ख़ुदएतिमादी से,

क्यों इलज़ाम लगाऊँ ग़ैरों पर.

• तस्कीन

उलझनों से मुतअस्सिर है, क़ाइम भी,

कशमकश-ए-ज़िंदगी का हौसला,

पेशानी से बहती खारी बूँदों से ही,

मुसकुराहट की ज़ीनत है.

• चिंब

कधी टपटप पडती चहुकडे, कधी कमलदलावर अवखळ,

शाखांवर बरसल्या धारा, पानांवर मोदाचे ओघळ,

तृषार्त मातीत झिरपला, चिंब फुलांचा परिमळ,

तोषात भिजला परिसर, नभाची ओथंबली ओंजळ।

नांगर थकूनही झाले प्रसन्न, सिद्ध जे होती वावर,

नभास विनविते क्षमा, करिण्या चिंब धरा सत्वर,

ज्येष्ठ वाढवी तृष्णा, क्षण क्षण होतो दुष्कर,

आराधनेत सकळ जीवांच्या, वत्सल घननील पयोधर।

• बेख़बर

मैं वाक़िफ़ हूँ तुम्हारे ग़म से मगर, वह मुशाबा नहीं मेरे रंज से,

न मुझे इल्म तुम्हारी कोफ़्त का, मेरे जख़्म से अनजान तुम भी,

हर लहू-ए-चाक-ए-जिगर बेख़बर रहता है दर्द-ए-ग़ैर से,

हर इश्क़ जुदा होता है, हर चोट का दर्द भी.

• बेचारगी

मेरी बेचारगी के क़त्रों के बिखरे हुए जाम,

ज़िहन में उतार रहा है बेख़बर ज़माना,

कल जो निकलेंगे अरमान बज़्म के,

जाने क्या सूरत होगी उन अश्क-ओ-ग़म की.

• बिरहिनी

उमड़ उमड़ कर बरसत नैना, करते मिलन घड़ी का सुमिरन,

बदरा घेरत चंदा बिजुरी, बह बह कर थक सूखे असुवन,

हृदय हो कंपित सोच अकल्पित, बढ़ती जावे बैरी ठिठुरन,

धीरज खोवे असहाय बिरहिनी, बहु चिंता कर मुरझावे मन।

• दौर-ए-दहशत

मैंने ही तहरीर किया है तुम्हारा बदहाल^१ मुक़द्दर^२,

मुझसे सवाल करने की जुर्रत^३ हरगिज़ न करना.

मेरी अय्यार^४ अदब से वाक़िफ़ न हो, इतने तो तुम ग़ाफ़िल^५ नहीं,

फिर भी तुम उलझन में हो, यही एक कमाल है.

ग़ैरमुतवक़्क़िअ^६ नहीं शदीद^७ राहों पर अपनों का मुँह मोड़ना,

क़यामत^८ में जो बेलौस^९ साथ दे, ऐसी मिसाल नायाब है.

मेरा गाँव कल भी हिस्सो में ही फैला था, बँटे तो आज सब के दिल हैं,

बच्चे तक नहीं पूछते वजह-ए-नफ़रत, आज के दहशतज़दा^१० दौर में.

• Let go

Although it is crucial to be vocal,

often we opt to stay mute,

Sometimes we ought to let go,

to overlook is an art astute,

Avoiding something is not unwise,

if done to safeguard repute,

One must take a pause,

in the endless journey and pursuit.

• क़त्ल-ए-ख़्वाहिश

परवाना-ए-महफ़िल को न अफ़सोस, तमाम ख़्वाहिशों के क़त्ल का,

शमअ-ए-ग़ैर के अरमान पूरे किए थे, ख़ुद की आरज़ू को फ़ना कर.

• Ground and sky

The dust hinders the vision of the sky,

the ground never absolves,

Sky holds the ground from reaching,

the cosmos from which it evolves,

Lofty pride softens its stiffness,

the crusade of the ground dissolves,

Ego, arrogance melt in an embrace,

as the humble horizon resolves.

• Looking back

Merely depiction material,

short-lived is closeness corporeal,

Caress may be at times worldly,

but the fragrance is perpetual,

Nostalgia might be more enchanting,

than attachment ephemeral,

Aroma enthralls reminiscences,

to make the memories eternal.

• Daybreak

Strokes on the canvas of dawn,

paint the eastern skies,

The blue horizon blushes,

adorned in a yellow guise,

Prayers spread the radiance,

echoed with the verses of the wise,

Daybreak pours the zeal,

to rejuvenate and energize.

• रौशन

तुम्हारे पर्तोव से ही साक़िब था, हर तारीक गोशा-ए-ज़ीस्त,

तुम्हारी ख़ाक-ए-वजूद लाँघ ही पाए थे, मनचाही सुबह के मंज़र.

• संग-ए-ज़र

क़दम चलते रहे गुज़रगाह^१, हर मोड़ पर पड़ाव को मेरा इंतिज़ार था,

सुकून पाने पर एहसास हुआ, कि मैं तो मंज़िल की मुकम्मल^२ तलाश था.

दरिया में लगाए ग़ोते ने सिखाए, अलिफ़-बे^३ तह-ए-ज़िंदगी^४ तक जाने के,

सीखी ग़ालिब की तवाज़ो^५, जब आग़ोश में खोया समंदर के.

सदाक़त-ए-शीशा-ए-दिल^६ ने, पिघला दिया पत्थर की शदीदगी^७ को,

पुख़्ता भी थे मिज़ाज-ए-दिल^८, ललकारा न क़ाबिलीयत-ए-संग^९ को.

ख़ुददार मुहताज नहीं होता, ख़ुदग़रज़^१० दुनिया के रहम का,

हर कामयाब रूह मगर, नतीजा होता है अनजान सजदे^११ का.

• The Quest

Unfulfilled desires were plenty,

and were distressing indeed,

But inspired me to move on,

to cruise and to succeed.

Pleasing gestures and smiles,

made me forget the pain,

Sparked the courage within,

to bear the brunt and to sustain.

Occasionally I got drenched,

in the content of achieved ambitions,

Aroused hidden vigour too,

the shattered dreams and frustrations.

Sometimes I ignored a vocal truth,

believed in the lies unspoken,

Oblivious to honest promises,

I relied on the assurance broken.

Teachings guided my thoughts,

paved the way to proceed,

Wisdom kept the courage within,

judged my ability to lead.

Every so often I have failed,

to fathom the deepness of relations,

Only to find my existence,

scattered in the storm of emotions.

Endless search for joyous,

pursuit for serene is unending,

Life breaths relentlessly,

to keep the quest unceasing.

• भँवर

जिस अज़ीज़ की ख़ातिर तय की, कद-ओ-काविश^१ भरी पेचीदा रहगुज़र^२,

उसी क़रीब ने डाली बेड़ियाँ, जिससे शादाब^३ था हर पल का पस-ए-मंज़र^४,

क़दमों में उलझे रिश्तों के भँवर, धुँधली कर गए दिल-ओ-ज़िहन^५ की नज़र,

मुआफ़ी-ओ-शुक्रगुज़ारी^६ से परहेज़, ज़ीस्त^७ को कर गया बेक़रार-ओ-बेज़र^८.

• सार

हर कठिनाई ने बढ़ना सिखाया, कार्यशीलता को कर चपल,

परिवर्तित भी किए लक्ष्य में, मेरे सकल जतन विशृंखल।

आपत्ति की रम्य शृंखला, उत्साह के कवन सुनाती,

सुप्त चरणों को जागृत कर फिर, उचित पथों पर क्रमण कराती।

कभी न टूटें धैर्य व संयम, कोई गरज मुझपर जो बरसे,

शत्रु न कोई, सभी मित्र हैं, कोई न आहत हों मुझसे।

यत्न हैं मेरे पथिक व साथी, कृपा की न मुझको अभिलाषा,

प्रयास, कर्म और परिश्रम से ही, मेरे भाग्य की है परिभाषा।

• ख़ता-ओ-अंजाम

ख़ता मेरा ही था शायद, गुनाहगारों से चाहा करम^१,

अपनों ने ही माँगा हिसाब, ग़ैरों से क्यों करें शिकवा-ए-सितम^२.

मेरी बेग़रज़ी और मेरे तहम्मुल^३, ग़लत ही साबित हुए मुसल्सल^४,

थी मुझमें ख़ामियाँ अनगिनत मगर, ज़माना भी कहाँ था मुकम्मल^५.

बलंदी का क़द नहीं होता, न होती है परवाज़^६ की कोई हद,

मुक़ाम किसीको नहीं होता मयस्सर^७, फिर भी हौसला होता है अज़हद^८.

हर सादगी सहती है दग़ा, शराफ़त जूझती है तौहीन^९ से,

ख़ामोशी-ए-सदाक़त^१० भी चुभे जहाँ, क्या अंजाम हो शाइस्ता^११ जबाँ से.

• अख़लाक़

जिससे उभरे उसी मिट्टी में मिलना, मुक़द्दर^१ होता है हर दिल का,

दिलदारी से जहाँ को आसूदा^२ करना ही, मक़्सद हो हर धड़कन का.

ज़बाँ न हो बेपर्वा, अलफ़ाज़ से मज़्रूह^३ न हो जिगर,

भीड़ में क़ाइम करें तेरा तअर्रुफ़^४, तेरे शाइस्ता अंदाज़-ओ-फ़न-ओ-हुनर.

आज का वल्वला^५ रवाँ जवाँ, सहारा बने हर ग़ैरइख़्तियारी^६ बुढ़ापे का,

शीरीं^७ ज़िहनियत ही ज़रीआ हो, दिलों में बसी ख़फ़गी^८ पर फ़तह पाने का.

• सफ़र-ए-ज़ीस्त

आग़ोश में लिये मन्फ़ी^१ से ही, वुजूद बनता है दरिया का,

शायद इसी कड़वाहट का तअस्सुर^२, हौसला देता है उभरने का.

ज़िहन में ज़हर भरा हो, तो लाज़िम^३ है पैरवी झूठ की,

उतरती शक्ल दरअसल, कैफ़ियत^४ कहती है मायूसी की.

ग़ैरइख़्तियारी^५ है हर साँस की ख़ातिर, बढ़ना दर्द-ओ-उम्र का,

मरहम बनता है नफ़स^६, क़सूरवार भी ज़ख़्म-ए-मुस्तक़्बिल^७ का.

बढ़ते क़दमों को खींचती, बेशुमार^८ फैली भीड़ में,

मिल जाता हौसलाअफ़ज़ा, गाहबगाह^९ रहगुज़र में.

सुकून का ही अक्स देखा पैहम^१०, मंज़िल पाए हुए हर शख़्स में,

उनकी मुस्कानें बनीं हमराह, रहनुमा भी सफ़र-ए-ज़ीस्त^११ में.

कौन हुआ है आज़ाद, बंद-ए-दस्तूर-ए-दुनिया^१२ से,

कौन उठा सका है चिलमन, सिर्र-ए-क़ैद-ए-हयात^१३ से.
